Kid Free Weekend

SO bear's birthday party was yesterday and it turned out pretty good. We had the family over for supper and the kids got to play with Grandparents they hadn't seen in awhile. Bear was happy about his gifts he really liked the monsters lego from Aunty Ski and the Shark Park Hot Wheels box that Smiles and I picked out for him. Hubby was a little disappointed that the Dinosaur Encyclopedia he picked out wasn't as exciting as the Shark Park. Though Bear did give an excited squeal "Cool, this is just like the one K.... has!" K being Raven's daughter. I can't come up with a good psuedonym for her so I will have to confer with Raven on that. Bear even liked the clothes that he recieved. But the best part was after the cake (which Smiles was very demanding about - both cakes as a matter of fact) the Grandparents then bundled them both up and took them away to the farm. Now that's a present I think we all can live with! After all the kids are probably running around right now playing with Grandma or chasing the chickens or mucking in the greenhouse. And I got to sleep in this morning. What a luxury that was.

Even better for me was that I came up with another story idea which seems pretty cool to me. So I am going to be writing out some ideas and drafts after this. Of course the one downside to all of this is that I still have a mountain of dishes piled up in the kitchen. Meh, they are not pressing right now so you know what? They can wait!
