Family Outing and Bacon

So today was a fun day. We went to a recreated fort in the middle of the city and because it was Father's Day as long as Hubby wore a hat he got in free. We went on the train, a carriage ride and the street car. We saw the Fort that used to stand in place of the city and walked through lots of old buildings. Smiles was very happy even with her nasty cough. As soon as she heard where we were going she was very happy. They have a carousel and at the very end both her and Bear got to ride it. The 1920's midway fair is coming along nicely and they have a ferris wheel set up to be run during the summer. I liked the different streets and the buildings that showed what life would have been like back in the day. I think my favorite street is the 1905 street where they have a drug store that sells real toffee and rock candy. The rain made it a really interesting day. We almost decided not to go. I am glad we did though.

Thursday Raven and I went swimming after Hubby went to the Father days evening at the school with Bear. After that we went to BP's(a family restaurant) and conversed with friends long in to the night. I was a little dismayed when I was told it was 1:30 in the morning. Oops I did not mean to stay up that long. Still I had a really good time and enjoyed talking with Terror of the North, The Entertainer and Silent E. She's not really silent but she has a really quiet voice and it is sometimes difficult for me to hear her. Anyways I missed Ladies of Hack on Friday night due to my coming down ill. I am sure I caught some of what Smiles has and have not been able to rid myself of this nasty recurring headache. Smiles is getting better though and even though we didn't go swimming yesterday due to Smiles being sick we sure made up for it walking today. The Fort Park is really huge and a very decent walk with lots of stairs to climb. Hubby was complaining his feet hurt. I said it was my lower back. Go figure, eh.

1. Did housework.
2. Did not take over Father's Day from Hubby despite being told I should.
3. Went on a good family outing.
4. Made a good Breakfast/Lunch (okay Brunch) of French Toast and Buffalo Bacon (yay, it came in)
5. I blogged.

I am so going to have to hide the Buffalo Bacon when friends come over. It tastes like a really good jerky and I really really like it! But knowing me I will share...sigh!
