This weather is going to kill me. Or at the very least make me extremely miserable. And it is only June! Yikes, what's going to happen when it's August?! It's my own fault for having another summer baby. I don't want think about what I am going to be feeling come the Quad War on August long weekend. Ugh! I may have to bring three coolers of ice just for me! And a small kiddie pool. And hope the unauthentic comments are kept to a minimum. Sigh!
It may be I am feeling a little hot because I just mowed the lawn and then watered the plants. The shower afterwards helped cool me down a little but I so do not want to go outside right now. Of course it doesn't help that I have a furry cat splayed out in my lap right now. She's been feeling unloved lately because I haven't been around as much as she's used to. That and Smiles seems to feel the same. Both of them are used to me being home all the time and not going out three times a week. All I can say, sorry but my sanity is saved when I go out and destress by sewing or swimming. That and I think Smiles will have to get used to the fact that when the baby comes I won't be able to pay as much attention to her as she's used to. I will have to come up with a time or activity that's just for us. Bear seems to be taking this a little better. Probably because he's already been through it when Smiles was born. Haha, family dynamics what a wonderful and weird thing it is.
Okay since Raven hasn't updated her blog about the cloaks we finished for May I will give a brief or not so brief description of what we have accomplished. First of all we exceeded our goal by three cloaks. Which means we have done in total for May 13 cloaks! Yay! I finished my black bog coat which ended up being a small and I trimmed it with the fabulous red Celtic knot work trim. Looks awesome. Raven completed her full circle black cloak and the black and black cloak which was not wool like mine. Hers was a black twill with a black fleece lining and she trimmed it with a red and gold trim. Looks sharp. I also started on my white and rust cloak which means we need to change out the thread to white on both the serger and the sewing machine. But I think it will look nice when it is done. It will not be for everyone and I don't expect it to sell unless that one person who likes it comes in to the store. It's funny but we seem to have a number of cloaks like that this year. Honestly I think its like that most years.
So all in all May was a good month for cloaks and in June we are going to relax and do whatever we feel like. Which will probably entail making things to outfit the families. Like Hubby's pants. Snicker. Raven used an SCA pattern from her Mom and when Hubby saw them he was like "These are huge! They are bigger than my other pants!" Meaning the ones I sewed for him last year. He kept saying the old ones were big enough to float a ship in them. Or put two of Raven in one pant leg. Well now they are not so big since his new pair are done. Still he will need them since more pants are always a good thing. Raven was teasing him that since he wasn't going to lose weight anytime soon we had to accommodate for any growth spurts he might put on. She even had enough left over to make her son a pair of pants. Which I thought was fair since she sewed the pants I figured any left over fabric should be hers then. Next we get to try to make a Gate Dress for me. I have no idea how to make one and don't know how to describe it but it should be fun.
I think I will spare you the details of my pregnancy for now. Just a warning eventually I will need to vent about it, but I will try to remember to put in a caveat first. So I hope the kids don't tire me out to much swimming today. Later!
