One Legged Magpie

All this week Smiles and I have been seeing a one legged magpie hanging around the houses at the end of our block. We normally see it in the morning and I don't know if it is the macabre element in me but I enjoy seeing this bird. It is fat by the way which I take to mean its lack of appendage is by no means keeping it from living well off of our lawns. I just can't help wondering about the one legged seagull that I saw flying over the playground on Thursday. I mean two birds each missing a leg?

Anyways last night was lots of fun and I really enjoyed Lady Godiva's bacherolette party. We went to a hotel that had a chocolate buffet and Mmmmm we ate really well. 8 ladies showed up in all and had a good time playing the games that Red Necked Rabbit brought out. Despite Raven's threatening to go join the boys. It was the chocolate that kept her with us - honest! Hehe. Anyways we ended up at Raven's house after the bacherolette in time for Blankshield to cook us his fabulous Stir Fry of Doom. Too much food - ugh still bloated today. The boys ended up being escorted off their original playplace by Security when they did not have insurance to throw tennis balls at each other on that land. So they ended up in the field behind Raven and Blankshield house. I was able to get a few pictures of the Groom (Terror of the North) and his pirate cronies as they attacked and rammed other ships. I suppose I should mention they were having a co-ed bachelor party for Terror as a Viking and Pirate party. They even had rubber chickens which they threw at each other. I got at least one good picture of some dead pirates splayed out under their sinking boat (cardboard boxes mainly). It looked like fun but the mosquitoes were out in force and so I fled the sea battle graciously.

As I was leaving Terror had been Saran Wrapped up with another girl(who I honestly did not know her name) and then had his face painted by The Entertainer(our friend who has done Fringe and other shows. He's a long time performer and a really wonderful person). I saw Lady Godiva being Saran Wrapped up with another of our friends so her fiance wouldn't be the only awkward one. She liked her face paint job though. She had received a cool mustache and eyebrows. We have some really weird friends. But hey it was a bachelor and bacherolette party right?!!! Crazy things always happen at those things.

On a quieter note, Raven and I are taking a break from sewing at the moment and have completed in total Zero projects. I think we deserve a bit of a break. I still ended up at Raven's on Tuesday and Thursday but mostly to just talk and hang out. Next week we may decide to do something. We'll see.

Oh and I finally figured out what flowers I planted out in my garden are. They are petunias. I feel so silly. But at least Smiles and Bear like seeing how the purple flowers open up and bloom. That makes me happy. I might even weed someday. Just after I mow the lawn. haha.
