Fall Garage Cleaning

1. I took a shower.
2. Smiles had a bath.
3. I played with Smiles and Bear.
4. I swept up all the debris left from the couches on the back alley driveway.
5. I cleaned and reorganized the garage.

The last one being the biggie today I am quite happy with myself. I even got the kids to clean up the outdoor toys that they tend to leave lying around in there. Now why would I bother to clean up the garage when I have a nursery to set up? Well here's my reasoning. We need to remove the computer desk and bookshelves from the nursery room into the living room. The living room needs to be cleaned up and have things taken out to the garage. The garage was so messy from people just dumping stuff in it that I would have been upset trying to find space to put the things from the house into it. Hence the first job is to clean the garage.

I am happy to say that there is now an open spot where we can put the tubs of stuff into. The camping gear is all neatly stacked and placed in its own area. The kids toys including the bikes and sleds are all in one corner. And if it is kept clean when we get the car running (which has been promised soon) I should still have enough space to park it. All of this makes me happy. So tomorrow I tackle what I can in the living room and maybe I'll clean the bathroom too, it needs it. I know I should not be doing any heavy lifting but if I don't do it I will be waiting until after the baby is born for the room to be set up. Besides when I was pregnant with Smiles I worked up until 10 days before she was born. And that was as a warehouse manager where heavy lifting is a requirement. True I didn't have to lift any of the tanning beds but still the tanning bulbs and some of those boxes of lotion could be quite heavy. Especially the lights.

So Hubby and I discussed where we are going to put things and Hubby has finally realized that we can not get all four bookshelves into the living room like he thought he could. I pointed out the space limitations to his plan and surprisingly he actually saw what I was talking about. He is thinking of putting a bookshelf in our bedroom which I am adverse to but I am willing to concede for martial harmony. Clutter doesn't bother him as it does me and maybe, just maybe if the bookshelf is right next to him he will actually put the books back where they belong. Nahh!
