1. I made spaghetti sauce from scratch.
2. I did dishes.
3. blogged.
4. I let the kids have a movie night tonight.
5. I rescued some chairs from a neighbours garbage.
I know, I know the last sounds horrible but the chairs are a solid metal frame and the cushions are a vinyl therefore washable. Hubby and I need some more chairs that are able to support our weight and these chairs do that. The wooden ones we got from Auntie Ski just do not support people over 200 pounds. Considering that Hubby is probably over 300 pounds and my pregnancy weight is making me closer to that number than I really am comfortable with I think this was a good move. Besides I remember what my parents used to do and just had their chairs like these ones recovered. They still have those chairs and we use them all the time when we visit the farm.
Yesterday was a good day and it started off with a late night before hand with me reading Stardust by Neil Gaiman til later than I should have. Then I woke up 10-20 minutes before Star showed up with her children for the playdate that we had scheduled last week. Little S and Smiles had fun getting balloon bunnies from the green shack guy at the playground. Bear got an octopus. Baby J was happy to just crawl around and Star got to take some beautiful pictures of the kids playing and looking cute with her new camera. I think she'll be an excellent professional photographer and I am definitely going to be spreading her business card around to the moms at the school. She said I was to give them to my friends but since most of the people I know are ones she knows I figure I'll let her spread word of mouth to them. Haha.
Later in the afternoon Grandma and Grandpa showed up and brought me a number of vegetable goodies. This included the fresh tomatoes I used for the spaghetti sauce tonight. Mom also gave me cucumbers, peppers, eggs and potatoes. All in all these vegetables should keep me happy for the next week or so. The kids were happy to see and play with Grandma and Grandpa. Smiles fell asleep easily for Hubby when it came to bed time.
The reason he ended up putting them to bed was because Raven called up and asked if she could do one last swim with me before Gencon. Since I love swimming and talking with Raven I could not very well say no! Even if she had an ulterior motive such as using me as transportation afterwards. You see she had no vehicle last night and would have needed a ride down to Star and Cosmic's place in order to meet up with them and her husband before their Red-Eye Flight. Blankshield had left earlier with the luggage and Raven could have gotten her Dad to drive her but this way we got to hang and chat longer. I will miss her for the week and will probably go swimming without her tomorrow, but I will still miss her. Of course it may be just Gencon that I am longing for and am missing. Sigh!
Still I hope everyone has a good time in Indianapolis and I am so going next year. Barring dire Family Emergencies. I think I'll keep my fingers crossed.
