I went swimming tonight with Raven. I decided to push myself since I had been doing just the bare minimum when it comes to doing the laps. My adventure began after the swim when I was supposed to meet Raven at Tim H's place for a coffee and/or doughnuts. I first had to stop by a gas station to fill the back left tire. I had noticed it was low when I was driving to the pool and whenever I braked it would do a weird dip on the left.
So I went to the gas station that I normally go to which is beside Tim H's. I noticed that instead of air going in to the tire - the tire was getting lower. I checked with the clerk and confirmed that the pump was broken. Great! Went to the Sev Gas Station that was closer to the pool and discovered that not only was their pump broken my tire was so low that I was almost driving on the rim. Oh and thank you to the people who pointed it out - but I already knew. Grrrr!
I head back North to the other gas station opposite the first Station. They didn't even have an Air Pump. Nor did the Commercial Gas Station for the Semi's behind it! What the heck? I even went to a Tire Store but they were closed! Finally I drove all the way past the pool (yes I passed it 4 times in this odyssey) and found a Gas Station that had an ACTUAL working Air Pump. So 40 mins after telling Raven I would meet her I finally showed up. I bought myself 2 doughnuts because at that point I deserved the sugar to calm myself down. I was so frustrated.
On the baby front I had a funny blogging moment this morning. Standing in her crib was a completely naked baby. Only thing left was her diaper - thank goodness! She had taken off her sleeper and thrown it onto the floor. Next was some stuffies and her blanket. She was picking up her pillow when she saw me. And of course the hugest grin was on her face. So I will have to see what greets in the morning tomorrow. I am just hoping the diaper is still on...
She also discovered the squirrels in the backyard. After coming back from the walk this morning I was talking with my neighbour E and she pointed to the squirrels in the trees above us. There were three of them fighting. I figured the two smaller ones were younger than larger one. The larger one was being the baddie and chasing the smaller ones out of his territory. It was cool to watch them because they would go up one tree and down another one over to another and up again. And Eyes was not even five feet away from them at sometimes. At one point there was a lot of noise just above me and then something fell from the tree. I looked over and two feet from me was a slice of pizza! Man that made me laugh. I got rid of it quickly before Eyes discovered it and tried to eat it!
Other than that school is almost over (end of the month) and I am both dreading and looking forward to it. I can't wait for the relief of not having to deal with whiny kids who don't want to do their homework anymore to the loss of time and freedom when they are home all day and demand that someone entertain them! Sigh! Hopefully that will fall to the neighbours around us. Not only do we have Little H across the alley and the German family next door but there are another two little boys that live on the street. One across the street and one four doors down. Plus there is another older girl in Grade 5 (same age as the oldest Elementary kid in the German Family next door) so this summer I am keeping my fingers crossed!
