1. My body functioned normally today.
2. I did the dishes.
3. I put the kids to bed.
4. I took a nap.
5. I was able to eat real food and not throw it up!
Yes these are small things but they reflect (I hope) that I am starting to get better. I still have to be careful my stomach rebels every now and then. But that's mostly just nausea and acid reflux. I decided to stay home tonight so I don't infect Raven and her kids, though I hope Hubby isn't a carrier and does exactly what I did not want to do. Even if he was sick he'd still go because his gaming is more important to him than the possibility of infecting others.
I am starting to get snippy already so I will cut this short. I really want to go to Quad War this weekend. I also want to get my house out of the dirtball mess that it has fallen into. The floors are really dirty and get worse from the dirt that the kids and Hubby track in everyday. Which means a really good mopping is in order. Then there's the bathroom. I really don't want to talk about the bathroom. And lastly there's the laundry. I had hoped to be caught up before this week so that it wouldn't take long to do any last minute washings before leaving for Quad. Sigh! Let's hope I can get my house clean enough before this weekend that I don't come back to a house that wants to make me scream. So here's hoping!

Forever Sickness
I just can't win in this department. I woke up this morning with the same symptoms my daughter had on Wednesday. Which is to say I just puked my guts out a little while ago. So while I was happy with the fact that I could now start to eat again after the stomach bug my Husband gave me I am now back to a liquid diet. Which means that I have not been able to take my prenatal vitamins or folic acid for almost a week now due to the fact that I can't keep them in me.
Hubby just got home from grocery shopping. He was going to surprise me with breakfast this morning and is understandably dismayed at my inability to eat. The only thing that really worries me is that if I don't get well before Wednesday I don't know if I'll want to go to Quad War. I am almost certain I do not want to infect Raven with either of the bugs I now have had which means I won't be visiting her before this weekend. The plan was Hubby and I go out with our kids early Friday and I get the shop set up while she waits for her husband to get off work and come later that evening. That is now going to be up in the air obviously. I will have to phone her and talk it out soon I think.
The other thing this interferes with is our plans of visiting my family and friends down in Cowtown. We had been planning on going down after Quad War and I was really looking forward to it. But if we don't go to Quad War who's to say I can go visit my relatives. I am sure they would love for me to pass on these bugs or flus or whatever it is I have on to them. So wish me luck and hope I get better. I do not want to disappoint Raven concerning Quad War. It's almost as bad as having to cancel on my Mom and Dad when they needed me to look after their place for 4 days. Have I mentioned before how much I hate being sick.

My Wand
Because I have finished the new and last Harry Potter book I had to take this test.
By the way if you haven't read the book yet I totally recommend it. I really enjoyed it.
Your Score: 10", Oak, Dragon
You scored 52 wisdom, 16 bravery, 15 emotional, and 27 martyrdom!
Oak signifies wisdom, endurance, protection, and authority. Your dragon's heartstring core makes your wand very effective in hexes.

Forced Blogging
Every time I have I meant to sit down and blog I have found myself uninspired this last week. So I am forcing myself to do so right now because otherwise I do not know how long I will be on this lollyblogging kick. Most of my life right now is trying to keep up with housework and failing miserably. I was supposed to go to the farm this week/end and look after it while my father participated in his backstroke competition. Unfortunately this morning I woke up with the stomach bug my husband has been battling for the last three days. He's at work now at least but that leaves me here with two kids and little energy. Plus Smiles threw up yesterday a few times and I am leery of taking her out to the farm.
So I am currently blogging just for a distraction for myself and then I have a strong feeling I will go back to bed. Thinking about it though I should make sure the kids have lunch first. Then crawl back into bed. Grandma and Grandpa may still come by and visit the kids today. Bear keeps wondering why he and Smiles just can't go out to the farm without me. I feel bad about that but I do not want to pass this bug onto my parents or anyone else I haven't already been in contact with. Which means my sewing is done before Quad War and I will have to be satisfied with the clothes that I have already made.

My World Map
Wherein you see I had a really good night tonight. I got to go swimming with Raven and then out to BP's to enjoy a small appetizer and the company of some good friends. It was on coming home that I discovered my picture(this has a long story which will be gotten to in a bit) had large chunks of glass broken and in dire need of repair. Sigh!
The history of the picture comes from when I was living with 2 other fabulous babes in a place we fondly called Castle Anthrax. Okay the name came a little later when there was a total of 5 girls living there but it still begins this story. We had just moved in and since the three of us girls were all going to University our friends decided to give us some housewarming gifts. I still think it was because all three of us were single and our male friends wanted to impress us with their generosity. Which they did and the gifts were graciously accepted. The two gifts received were a television set (since none of had one and every house has to have a television!) and this gorgeous picture of the world from 1878 (I may have the date wrong but the era is around then) as a map. It was gold and very detailed and I loved it.
The three of us decided that to be fair we should divvy the gifts up since one of us was smart enough to foresee that we were unlikely to spend the rest of our lives together. This smart one by the way was Raven. Yes I have known her for oh about 17 years now. Yikes we are old. haha. Anyway I believe she was the one who suggested that the gifts be divided as such. 2 gifts 3 people. The first one to move out of the house would forfeit one of the gifts. It so happened that Raven was the first one to move out. That left Miss Contrary and I with the two remaining gifts. She decided that she would rather have the TV and I decided that I rather liked the picture. That picture of the 1878 map of the world has gone through 15 years of my life with me. It has been featured in every living room I have ever had. Which means it has gone through six moves since I first acquired it.
Now alas it has been put out to the garage until I can get it to a framer and have the glass replaced. I never realized it before but the glass was part of the frame for the picture. I can't remember the word the use for it but when a picture is too small and the frame is too large they can put in another square or rectangle piece to help frame the picture. This picture the glass actually had that right on it and so now you can see the cardboard behind the world map. Sigh! I wish we had money so I could fix it tomorrow. The worst thing is because I can not keep it in the house (Not with two kids and soon a baby) I know eventually it will be forgotten and I won't remember it until we move again. (Which if we are lucky won't be for many many years). So I am a sad Panther. I am not really sure what happened but suffice it to say at least neither child was hurt and I only had a small amount of glass to clean up.
Oh at least my sewing creativity has been good lately. I finished the face huggers... er cradle covers for Auntie Ski. I fixed the bottom of my hem for my white shift and I only need to put elastic into a pair of pants that I want to wear at Quad War if I get my gate dress dirty. So yeah all in all it was a good two days. Despite the heat and the loss of my World Map. Hopefully the weekend will also be a good one.

A Good Night of Sewing
1. I finished lots of things last night at Raven's.
2. I ate the very first tomato from our garden for lunch. Mmmm Yum!
3. I cuddled with Smiles during the thunderstorm last night.
4. I surprised Smiles with the white shift I made from the leftover material I used for my white shift. It goes beautifully under her sleeveless purple dress.
5. I am still recuperating from this blasted cold. Lots of tea today I think.
So last night I went to Raven's and she was a wonderful person who not only made me a pouch for Quad War she also fixed Hubby's tunic that needed gussets put in. I had apparently not made the tunic big, um rotund enough for him and hence gussets where called for. So the tunic is done. I cut out a white shift for myself and as stated above had enough left over to make Smiles one too. I will be honest and say that I need to rehem my shift because I had cut it a little longer than I should have, but that's ok. That will take me oh 10 mins max to finish up. Also Crazy Lady of the Woods was absolutely wonderful and had made a blue gate dress that she gave to me. So I have a complete outfit for Quad War. Yay!!! Also I have gathered material I had left lying around Raven's so that I can take it to my parents place when I look after their house for them next week.
Which means I will try to get a few more cloaks made and hopefully a peasant shirt for me from my blue crinkle cotton or another dress from the blue linen I have. Extra outfits are always nice to have at events like these. Now I just have to try to get Bear to understand this. The only way I could get him to change outfits during the school year was if his was incredibly dirty and I would have to order him to put them in the hamper or if he got wet. Sigh! That's my boy. So I expect him to wear the same outfit all weekend at Quad. Smiles will probably change outfits like 5 or 6 times I am thinking. Which means I should make her more outfits. oooh.... I could go through my box labeled Cloth for Smiles and...! Oh yeah I have other things to do than make my daughter look adorable in medieval garb.
Like housework, ugh!

Hmmm Ratatouille
Okay I may still be sick but enough of this pathetic whining.
1. I did housework.
2. I weeded alongside the house.
3. I hosted Raven and her children in the backyard including snacks and drink for the impromptu playdate.
4. I served the leftover Ratatouille for supper.
5. I discovered our very ripe tomato growing in the garden.
Yes, you read that right Hubby made Ratatouille for Smiles for supper last night and oh is it delicious. For a French peasant dish it is really good. I was quite happy with it. Of course it has the things I like in it, such as zucchini, eggplant and tomatoes in it. Yummy! I used to hate zucchini when I was a child but now as an adult I really like it. As long as it home grown and does not have those awful pesticides on it. I will fry up a zucchini from my mom's garden and really like it. Then I get home and fry up a store bought one and get a really gross chemical taste. This is even after I have washed the zucchini off. I don't get it. But in Hubby's stew the zucchini and the eggplant gave just the right taste. Yum! And all the credit for this wonderful stew goes to Smiles for suggesting it yesterday. Good going Smiles!
So things have been sorta worked out as a schedule for this week. Tomorrow I will head to Raven's and do some sewing. Wednesday Hubby and Bear will go see Transformers while Smiles and I have a home movie night. Thursday Raven and will try to go swimming and maybe go to BP's afterwards. Friday I have a doctor's appointment and Hubby gets to go camping for his gaming Long Weekend. Tonight! Well, I could have gone with Hubby, dragging the two kids over to Raven's tonight to game. Honestly though I want another night to recuperate and try and feel better. This way I don't have to deal with the kids when it is bedtime and they are overstimulated or when it is time to leave and they are sleep drugged and heavy limbed. Much easier to stay home and look after them here. And with the bonus that if I feel really bad I can go crawl into bed and sleep.
So yeah I am still sick but I do believe I am on the road to recovery. Now hopefully Hubby has not caught the same cold I had. Yikes!

Grey Panther Whine
I am such a wimp. Not only did Hubby and kids go swimming without me, but all I did today were puzzles, sleep and play a little bit on the computer. Oh excuse me I did take a shower. When I am sick all I do is whine and moan and complain. I whine. And whine. And whine. Oh poor me looking for sympathy.
Oh well at least the kids enjoyed the pool. They ended up going to one that is closer to home and Smiles apparently loved it. "They have two slides. A red one and a blue one! I went down the red one 18 times and the blue one 47 times!" She was really excited about it and I am sure just made those numbers up. At least her memory for numbers is improving. I can't say much about her math but she can almost count up to 17. She skips over 16 all the time.
Since this pool is close I technically can walk there with the kids and we have a community membership so we should get in a little cheaper. Which will be nice if we have more scorchers like yesterday. Today we had a little bit of rain which was nice. It is still hot but a little more bearable. I think I may be getting better but I won't tell Hubby yet. I would like a little more rest before diving back into household tasks.

So how's the heat for ya?!
I am melting literally. It is way too hot for me and it is only July. I have been doing all the tricks I can to cool this house down. Even though it is better than almost all of the other houses I have ever lived in it is still too hot. Doesn't help when your furry cats want attention and sit on your chest when your flaked out from the heat. I feel for them. I do. I am too hot and I can't think what it must be like with fur coats on as well. Yikes. So not only do I have to keep the house cool for us humans I also have to worry about the comfort of my cats. Thankfully Bear has been keeping up with his chore of feeding the cats and regularly gives the cats fresh water.
This morning I was so baked that I went out to the garage and brought out our fans. I currently have one on me right now or I wouldn't be at the computer til later. And quite frankly I would rather sleep later when its cooler. Not be playing on the computer. I even got out the ice cubes and placed them in a bowl of water before a fan. Too bad they melted really quickly.
So Hubby and I took the kids to Ratatouille the new Pixar film. I don't think its spelled right but its French and I have never been good at French. It was a really good movie and both kids were excited about it. Now if only Smiles had decided not to go to the bathroom like five million times. Ok it was only three times but I missed some good chunks of the movie because of it. Sigh. Still it was very fun to watch and I did enjoy myself. So when we got home I decided that supper was going to be cheese, pickles and crackers with fruit for dessert. All the things that don't require cooking. I don't want the oven on right now! I don't want the oven on right now! I don't want the oven on.... oh sorry got carried away for a bit there.
Hubby really enjoyed the film because he's a foodie and would love to cook all the time. As long as he didn't have to clean up after himself. That and in this heat its even worse for him because he literally will not want to eat if he's too hot. I think I will go and get some vegetables for dipping and cold cuts for lunches and suppers. It is so hot that I don't even want to turn on the toaster oven to heat up my bagels in the morning. Of course I will otherwise the bagels go all hard and crunchy and not so nice to eat. I don't think I'll be buying bagels again for awhile. At least not til the heat has passed us by.
I really hope we get the kids to the pool tomorrow. I know I will enjoy it. Even if I will need to use the hot tub before getting out of the pool. One of these days I should see if I can get a massage from Auntie Ski. Now if only my stomach doesn't go all funky and hurt on me tomorrow morning. It's done that for the last two days now. I know I am sick and in this heat it is not a fun thing. Sore throat, cough (with the same effect as the sneeze) and a splitting headache almost all day. So until tomorrow then.

Date Night Review
As noted on the comments from the previous blog our wonderful babysitters did show up and totally got the kids high on sugar. (Not that we weren't expecting it mind you). Hubby and I ended up merely going to a fabulous restaurant where we ate really good food. French food that involves crepes. Mmmmm Mmmmmm. We were going to go to the movies afterwards, but alas forgot (In my case didn't know) that it was opening night for the new Harry Potter film. Which I would have liked to have seen but neither of us were willing to wait in line for a chance at a movie where we most likely would not have sat together. Not only that the length of the movie is three hours and that would have made us get home really really late. Both Hubby and Uncle Big Bear need to get up early in the morning for work so scratch the movie idea. I threw some ideas around but mainly we ended up coming home to hyper children and watching the end of their movie Robin Hood.
Next time I think I will try to plan it a little better. Like maybe go bowling or go play pool. Hubby doesn't like those ideas because they actually involve physical activity when he could come home and read a book. Sigh! Eventually I will figure out an activity that he can do that will involve him losing weight and me not getting frustrated with him. See I like bowling or playing pool or even roller skating. Note: Last time I went Roller Skating my knees were two huge bruises from mid thigh down to mid calf. Which means since my balance is worse now I should probably avoid Roller Skates for awhile. Anyways I might just have to toss some of these ideas out to other family and friends and see if they would be interested in doing some of these things.
Hmmm, Hubby likes Golf and Laser Tag or Paint Ball.
Anyways I have tried to get him to go golfing again this year but his partners last year were his friend C (I know I shouldn't but I want to call him Wacko) and Big D our old roommate. Lives differing and such and no tee times for Hubby. Mainly because Sundays are when he would be able to go golfing with his friends and Sundays are usually his only day off during the week. Same with them and they now have lives that involve it being an inconvenience at getting together on Sundays to go golfing. Still I hope he'll find something or someone who'll help him start and activity that he enjoys. Like I did with Raven and swimming. Speaking of which I will once again have to go swimming by myself tomorrow. Raven will be busy with her Mom and kids out at the cabin. So once again this week no swimming with Raven or sewing.
I think I should actually start on that shift for myself soon or I'll be panicked come Quad War and have nothing but hot things to wear. And it'll be all MY fault. Same thing with the babys room. We really need to start working on stuff in here, but all thats been happening is me going "Hubby, we really need to get moving on changing the computer room into the nursery!" and him going "Uh huh, yeah!" Sigh!
Oh, two cute things which I want to share. At least to me they were cute. Bear and Smiles were really big helps to me today at getting our house looking reasonably decent before Queen Pet showed up. Smiles really likes to wash the walls. It is so cute to watch (when I am not up to my arms in soap suds). Bear is getting really good at drying dishes.
Okay the two cute things. Whenever I sneeze now Bear goes "Chow! That's funny!" You see I am at the stage where when I sneeze my belly muscles contract and they hurt so my "Achoo" usually ends with an "OW!" Which to Bear sounds like "A..Chow!" Oh the giggles I give my children. The other cute thing I had to laugh at was Queen Pet was telling me about Smiles and how she's a strange child. You see Smiles was making pretend things for her Uncle and his fiancee when Queen Pet asked Smiles "So what does it smell like?". Smiles response was "Strawberry Poop". You expect a child of mine to normal? HAH! Again I say Hah!
All in all it was a good night tonight.

Future Movie night with the kids
So I was right about the mowing but he has promised that he'll do it sometime this week. He even let me kick him off tonight so that I can play. Of course I did let him on earlier just so I would feel justified in doing so. Hubby even made supper tonight. 2 kinds of meatballs (a honey garlic and a pineapple), green beans with tomatoes and rice. So I guess I'll forgive him. We are supposed to have a date night tomorrow but our babysitters may have to cancel. One of them has a meeting he has to go to and will hopefully be able to get back to us tonight on whether he has to attend it or not. If not I am sure we'll just reschedule and eat too much another night. That's usually what happens. hee hee. Otherwise Hubby has promised the kids a movie night including popcorn and ice cream floats for tomorrow.
1. Housework.
2. Laundry. I have folded all of the ones previous and started another batch.
3. I have blogged.
4. I took the kids, including our neighbours Little H, to the play park.
5. I have played with the kids.
Oh on some sad news Raven's computer died last weekend and she is suffering computer/ email withdrawal. I found that out last night when we over there playing Seventh Sea. This time at least the kids did actually sleep over there, despite (oh now what did I call her - I really should make a list of all the pseudonyms I have used for people) K's removal to another bedroom. In fact I think that was what allowed them to sleep. K and Smiles like to chat and play too much, hence little sleeping at the sleepover. I am sure it will get easier next time. This time I remembered to bring my keys! I did not need them but still you know, um... yeah!
Anyways a quick update on my life since those horrid nightmares on Sunday. I am feeling much better and may be able to actually do things again. I just have to remember to keep moving and go for more walks during the day. The lethargy has started to creep in since I am no longer required to walk Bear to school everyday. So that is my new resolve is to go on more walks with the kids.
Update: I am sad because the date was officially canceled. Our babysitters are sorry they can't make it and we will try again for next week. The kids are okay with it either way. They would have had a good time with Uncle Bear (I have decided this suits him better as a pseudonym - he is slow to anger and really looks like a bear somedays) and soon to be Auntie K (maybe I should call her Queen Pet - she does like them alot). But now they'll get the movie night with candied popcorn (so Daddy has promised) and ice cream floats. Boy do we spoil them or what! Hahaha.

Nightmares on my street
I am looking for sympathy in this following post and won't deny it. Also I may divulge some pregnancy details that should maybe left unread by some. I won't really know until I am done blogging.
Have you ever had one of those nights where every single time you fall asleep it is back into a nightmare. I woke up about 4 or 5 times last night only to retreat right back into a nightmare. And they were not the same nightmare over and over again. Nooooo... they had to be new and different and horrible ones. The two that stand out most involve me trying to figure out how this person killed themselves while their head was decapitated and in another room. You see it was a suicide but meant to look like they had framed someone else. My brain is really twisty and I think I have been watching too many CSI shows lately. The disturbing part of it was the colour was almost always a smoky or light grey to white colour except for me. And I even had to try to figure out how this person would something like this as if I was the one trying to attempt this framing suicide attempt. Ugh lemme tell you it was not pretty.
The second nightmare that stands out was the one right before I woke up this morning with a raging headache from tensing and being rigid all night. In it I am driving a car, light gray, and the wheel is on the right side of the vehicle. I know this because I was driving and the guy who got into my car is a thief and gets in on the left hand side of the car. I know he wants my wallet with all my cards in it. So I place my humongous purse(I have a tiny one in real life by the way) between my legs and place my leg through the strap so he can't just grab and run. Then I drive with him in the car. I think I had to get away from a murder scene or something which is why I allowed him to stay in the car. It was a dream I obviously wasn't thinking right. A few blocks away I stop and tell him to get out. I also angrily tell him to give me back my cards. (You know driver's license, bank cards, etc...) and he hands me back one with a smirk on his face. Yelling is involved and I get out and try to get my cards back from him. Eventually I get his jacket( a medium gray suit - see gray again) into a twist behind his back so he can't use his arms or run away. I search his back pockets and my cards aren't back there and he tells me they are in the front pockets of his pants. Which I am not willing to put my hands into because this guy is obviously a pervert. Then I see a police officer coming over and tell him that this guy has my cards and won't give them back. Except it looks like I am the one committing a crime here holding the guy in this straight jacketed position. So guess who gets arrested and who gets away with my cards. Thats when I woke up very angry and tense and stressed. Sigh!
The Tylenol has finally kicked in and I am feeling better. I am still blah, but better than when I first woke up. Ugh, I really hate it when my day starts off like this. I usually only get worse and am cranky over every little thing. Now if only Hubby will mow the lawn before it rains I will be happier.
Okay I should explain. On Thursday night it was my turn to go on the computer and play if I so choose to. I wanted to do stuff with our guild on WoW and was looking forward to it. So when Hubby came home and immediately got on the computer and refused to get off...I got angry. He wanted to do a really hard run with the guild which he said everyone was gearing up for, despite the fact that he had agreed it was my night on the computer. Normally I wouldn't have Thursdays because I would be over at Raven's sewing, but due to her crazy week last week I let her have a date night with her husband. Wow, that sounds so magnanimous of me doesn't. I really didn't have a choice.
Wednesday I had let Hubby play all night and Thursday it was supposed to be mine. This is a long winded explanation. I better get to the gist quick. So on Thursday when Hubby wanted another turn I told him only on two factors. Yes, I would be getting Friday night no matter what, because he would have friends over, but also because I had been cheated out of Thursday. The condition imposed was that he would then have to mow the lawn for me if he took my Thursday night. He said he would do it sometime this weekend. Sunday at the latest. Guess what it's Sunday and looking like it will rain. Has the lawn been mown yet? Oh and I told him that if he reneged on the lawn mowing (which I am expecting him to do because he'll wait until its about to rain and then have to stop part ways through) I would then be able to kick him off the computer any two times that I wanted to and he couldn't fuss about it. He agreed! So that is where we are now. I am waiting to see if he will actually mow the lawn or have him do only a quarter of it or so and then claim he fulfilled his promise.
I know he means to do it but he is a procrastinator and will put it off if he can. I can't say much because I do the same somedays. The dishes are only partly done right now and I have a few laundry baskets full of clothes that need to be folded. Still I do get to the household tasks done because otherwise we would have no dishes or clean clothes. Unfortunately today it is going to be very hard to motivate myself into doing anything other than playing on the computer or doing my puzzles. So now that I am done blogging I realize I have not talked about icky pregnancy details. I have only moaned and complained. I can't even say its a true rant or vent because I lack the motivation to be anything other than emotionally blah. I guess then that this was a ramble. I would say happy reading but you just read this and I wouldn't say it was happy, so I hope everyone has a better day or sleep or whatever!

Barefoot and Pregnant
I wanted to post yesterday about everything that I had done but Hubby was on the computer all night and I decided that posting after midnight would not be helpful to my sleep schedule. So yesterday's Positive Reinforcements are...
1. Housework. Lots and Lots of housework.
2. Grocery shopping.
3. I did 21 laps at the pool! Yay!
4. I played frisbee with the Bear.
5. I watered and sorta weeded the plants.
This week my normal schedule of doing things with Raven has been severely disrupted but I am ok with that. She is currently very busy with family things and out of town friends coming in, so I hope she has a good week. Well see if next week we can actually get some sewing done :) So instead of swimming with her I went by myself last night. Which I am glad I did. I really needed it. I went with the kids and Hubby on Monday before we went to Raven's to play and that was good too. Now if only we can get the kids to actually sleep during the sleepover portion we should be just fine.
You see now that the kids are out of school we are going to try and see if I can rejoin Hubby's Seventh Sea game on Monday nights. And hopefully I don't forgot my house keys again. Smiles was not sleeping and still awake at 11pm on Monday so I decided to drive the kids home and let Hubby keep playing. Our friend Mr. Giant was willing to drive him home so I got the kids out to the truck and off we went. Only to discover that my keys were not in fact my jacket pocket like usual, but inside the house. One thing I am glad to find out is that out house is hard to break into. Or at least very noticeable should someone attempt it. So I ended up with two sleeping kids in the backseat waiting for Hubby to come home after calling him from the 7 Eleven. Sigh, it was not my day on Monday.
It was better than Saturday morning where I was so clumsy I scraped my leg from tripping over a driveway. So now I have two matching knees (well one is below the knee) that are covered in scrapes. I guess I was envious of the kids badges of summer.
Today, I have been taking it easy but I have still accomplished a number of things. Such as I have done laundry. Got the kids to clean up their room. Obviously, I blogged and am planning on mowing the lawn later on as it cools off in the evening. Also the plants will need to be watered again and maybe just maybe I might do some more weeding. I don't like it but I must admit the flower beds look a lot nicer when they don't have weeds in them. Sigh! Maybe I am turning into a gardener after all. I'll just have to wait and see if Smiles thinks I am after all she's the expert on Gardening in this household! Either that or I'll just stick to doing the dishes and cooking. Ah barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. That old cliche is true some days!

A Good Weekend
"If you hold your burps in then they will come out as farts the next day!"
"Really, then you must be holding in lots of burps."
A short excerpt from the car ride today on the way from church to A&W for lunch. Everyone cracked up when Bear said the first line. The second one was only quietly heard by me and the two kids. Grandma and Grandpa were happy to see the kids this weekend and Smiles was a huge help watering plants with Grandma. Grandma thinks she takes after her and will be a gardener when she grows up. I hope so because Smiles keeps telling me "Your not a gardener Mommy. You're almost a Gardener!" Mainly because I don't have a lot of interest in the flowers and such. I like the end product, especially of tomatoes and potatoes and vegetable type things but hate weeding and usually forget to water stuff. Smiles is better at watering and will usually remind me that it needs to be done. So at Grandma's farm she was very happy to help Grandma water and feed the chickens and do other chores.
One thing I was happy to get was a piece of cloth that I wanted from storage out there. I thought I was looking for a white crinkle cotton, but instead found a white cotton and a blue crinkle cotton next to each other. So I grabbed both and should have enough to make a shift for myself out of the white cotton and maybe a couple of shirts for Bear or a dress for Smiles out of the dark blue crinkle cotton. So all in all I think its okay that my brain thought I was looking for only one piece of fabric because I ended up finding two! WooHoo!
1. Helped Mom around the farm. Dad had accidentally drilled into one of her fingers and so she's temporarily one handed.
2. Picked Strawberries yesterday.
3. Got the Bear to help out with dishes by drying them for me.
4. Cleaned up my house before leaving and put everything away as soon as we got home :)
5. Had a really good time at Grandma and Grandpa's farm.
Bear ended up helping Grandpa not only pick strawberries but also helped when it came time to clean them. Alas he learned the hard way this morning that eating too many strawberries does bad things to your digestive track. The poor kid was in pain this morning from having eaten way, way too many strawberries the night before. And Grandpa had only encouraged him in his nibbling. Bear was okay by the time we had to go to church (mainly because Grandma gave him ginger ale and some swedish herbal bitters) Once his stomach was okay he was off and running. Literally. He was antsy during church but not too bad. It was at the large Ukranian Easter Egg Park that he really had fun. It being Canada Day there was a gathering of people. Not alot. But enough that there were games and prizes for the kids to participate in. Bear won three times when it came to running. Wow I did not realize how fast he was. So now we have a really cool red frisbee that Grandpa played later at the farm with him. He has this red balloon that is covered with white maple leafs and looks incredibly phallic. (I honestly don't know what they were thinking). And a really nice smiley face pen. The pen in his words "I can use for homework!" Yay! He's thinking ahead.....maybe.
So I hope everyone else has had a good weekend and a Happy Canada's Day!
