SO this may be my last post for a week and a half. When I switched services for the TV and internet I had booked things so that it would be cut off and the new service installed today. I am not cut off yet, but I just called to find out when the new service provider was supposed to come by today and..... I was told he'll be by on the 11th of September. Arrghhh! Seems that my wonderful plan of having it done today is not going to happen. So if you don't hear about me for awhile its because I do not have access. Oh well, ces't la vie.
On the other front I woke up when Hubby's alarm went off this morning and had a thought that made me get up and not be able to go back to sleep. I am wondering if it is the litter in the litter box that the cat is objecting to. You see we had previously used non clumping unsweetened cat litter and when we moved here we switched to a clumping litter for Hubby's convenience. I am thinking her bathroom problems stem from getting urinary tract infections from the clumping litter which is known to happen in some cats. After all she is not even using the cat litter box and spraying all around it. Which Hubby is refusing to clean at the moment. Arrggghhh! If I was allowed I would do it I would, but being pregnant I am strictly forbidden to go anywhere near the litter box. So I am thinking Hubby better clean it tonight and I will buy some non-clumping cat litter for the cats and see if that will make a difference. I really do not want my house smelling like a litter box. Nor my laundry.

Mission Accomplished (Well almost - The first part anyways)
1. I did the dishes again tonight after supper.
2. I went swimming with Raven.
3. The tub full of vinegar water seems to have a mostly positive affect on the cat pee smell. My one shirt that I really like did not smell but a bag that got caught still had a whiff of it.
4. I boxed books today. I moved things out of the computer room so the desk could be moved.
5. The desk was moved out into the living with help from Raven.
Otherwise the desk would not have been moved and I would have been annoyed that it hadn't gotten done. You see the helper that was going to come and help Hubby tonight could not make it. That and when Hubby rounded one of the corners on our block his tire was slashed by a piece of metal that had been jutting out onto the street. So hubby ended up having to deal with that all night instead of his other chores he said he would do. He also did not eat supper. But Raven wanted to hang and maybe if I wasn't too tired go swimming tonight. So once she moved the desk (Which she did all by herself with no scuff marks. Wow she Rocks!) I desperately wanted out of the house. We let Hubby set the computer back up. Even though it was late the swim lanes were still open for another two hours. Yeah chlorine hair is better than sweaty stinky hair any day!
In my vein of packing and moving things around for the nursery I underestimated how many boxes I would need to box all the books from just two of the bookshelves. I thought six would be enough. I figure I will need at least four more to be on the safe side. (These are banker boxes by the way.) I had forgotten how many boxes we had to use just to get all of our collection to this place. So I will be finishing that job tomorrow most likely by sending Bear into the crawl space to get the rest of the ones I need. I have also come to the conclusion (due to one or two of the boxes having suffered water damage) that I can not continue to store them down there. The plastic tubs should be okay though. We just tend to use them more often so they are stored in a more convenient place (ala the garage).
Now I just have to get a rug for under the chair for the computer. It left scuff marks on the floor in the nursery and luckily for me I know that Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser will get them off. I had to use it before in the kitchen. I just never paid any attention to the computer chair. Doh! I will still have a lot of cleaning to do and hopefully the kids don't mess around with the boxes I have stacked in the living room right now. One is full of all my knick knacks that are to go on top of the bookshelves when they are moved into the living room. Other than that we just have to move the blue cubby shelves into the kitchen to make room for the other desk that we want to put in the living room. That one will be my sewing/new computer desk if/when we get the new one. Which I still haven't gone to the website for yet. I really should do that soon.
Once that is done I might just have a nursery!

From Positive to Negative
1. I did the dishes again after supper.
2. I hosted Little H so Smiles and her could play.
3. I compromised with Bear over his computer time.
4. I took out a few things like the fans out to the garage.
5. I went through all the boxes that had been in my closet and placed them in storage (above my closet which is where they were supposed to go in the first place)
Yeah, I had been meaning to do that since we moved in November last year and after Christmas had just gone blah! and lost all my energy and motivation to continue unpacking. So now it is done and some of the books (or tubs of books) that Hubby cannot stand to see taken out to the garage will have a home underneath his clothes. My side still has some boxes that I was not willing to put above me. Like the one that had pictures in it. Which meant that I did not get as much done in the living as I had hoped but I still have one more day to go to clean out the clutter from there. And to tell you the truth it should not take me long at all. What will take me awhile is removing all the books from the bookshelves so they can be moved out of the nursery.
So the compromise I have made with Bear is that he will willingly go without his computer for a day in order to double it the next. You see I usually allow the kids 5 mins per year of their age and with Bear being 7 it means he gets 35 mins a day. Smiles only gets 20 mins but quite frankly the computer does not fascinate her like it does Bear and she will go for days without asking for her computer time. Which is fine by me. I would rather she go outside and play anyways. The reason why I compromised with bear on his computer time was because he did not have enough time to finish a game he was playing today and got frustrated and started crying. It is a hard one and requires alot of skill and coordination. He is getting better at it but still wants to continue after the timer has gone off. So in order to avoid punishing him for running out of time I figured I would try to give him the extra time he wants. Hence the compromise.
So yeah things have been progressing and the next step is to move large pieces of furniture around tomorrow. Which I have clearly stated that I will not do! I should not have gone up on the chair to put things in the storage above the closet but Hubby doesn't organize things like I want to so I just did it. He was very crabby and grouchy today when he got home. At least he got the banker boxes out from the crawl space as I had asked him. After yelling at me to stop nagging him of course. Now if only I can convince him to actually clean the cat litter box and the floor underneath it. One of the cats is sick and has decided she doesn't like the litter box. Instead she has been using the laundry baskets. Arrrrghhh!@ So I now have a tub full of laundry soaking in vinegar hoping to get the smell out. I would rather not have to throw away some of my good t-shirts. Alas unless I catch it when its still wet the smell does not want to come out. I am starting to think that she doesn't like the covered cat litter box and that is why she is going outside and around the box and in the laundry. It is unfortunate that she picked up this habit when we lived with the vacuum brothers. One in particular never cleaned his room and if he left the door open she would go where the previous cat had been. Usually in his laundry. Now she's doing it in ours and I am getting really frustrated. Especially since Hubby doesn't see this as his problem. I am starting to think I should just leave his clothes lying around and see how well he likes the smell. Oh wait he already does leave his clothes lying around, all over our bedroom floor. Maybe I should put them in a laundry basket for her then. Ok that was incredibly bitchy and it means I should go to bed and get some sleep.

Fall Garage Cleaning
1. I took a shower.
2. Smiles had a bath.
3. I played with Smiles and Bear.
4. I swept up all the debris left from the couches on the back alley driveway.
5. I cleaned and reorganized the garage.
The last one being the biggie today I am quite happy with myself. I even got the kids to clean up the outdoor toys that they tend to leave lying around in there. Now why would I bother to clean up the garage when I have a nursery to set up? Well here's my reasoning. We need to remove the computer desk and bookshelves from the nursery room into the living room. The living room needs to be cleaned up and have things taken out to the garage. The garage was so messy from people just dumping stuff in it that I would have been upset trying to find space to put the things from the house into it. Hence the first job is to clean the garage.
I am happy to say that there is now an open spot where we can put the tubs of stuff into. The camping gear is all neatly stacked and placed in its own area. The kids toys including the bikes and sleds are all in one corner. And if it is kept clean when we get the car running (which has been promised soon) I should still have enough space to park it. All of this makes me happy. So tomorrow I tackle what I can in the living room and maybe I'll clean the bathroom too, it needs it. I know I should not be doing any heavy lifting but if I don't do it I will be waiting until after the baby is born for the room to be set up. Besides when I was pregnant with Smiles I worked up until 10 days before she was born. And that was as a warehouse manager where heavy lifting is a requirement. True I didn't have to lift any of the tanning beds but still the tanning bulbs and some of those boxes of lotion could be quite heavy. Especially the lights.
So Hubby and I discussed where we are going to put things and Hubby has finally realized that we can not get all four bookshelves into the living room like he thought he could. I pointed out the space limitations to his plan and surprisingly he actually saw what I was talking about. He is thinking of putting a bookshelf in our bedroom which I am adverse to but I am willing to concede for martial harmony. Clutter doesn't bother him as it does me and maybe, just maybe if the bookshelf is right next to him he will actually put the books back where they belong. Nahh!

Only time will Tell
1. I made Smiles laugh at supper. Really loudly and excitedly in the food court. hehe
2. I got Bear school supplies. Not all of them Zellers was missing some.
3. I got groceries.
4. I am getting the kids back onto their school sleep schedules.
5. I cuddled my cats and gave them lots of love and attention.
Since I haven't done dishes yet today and didn't do them yesterday I can't rightly claim that as a positive reinforcement. Yet! I may still do them. Anyways this weekend was a good one. Mostly. I went out to the farm with the kids while Hubby went camping for his long weekend game. At the farm it was good I helped collect eggs and even did dishes there. Alas I forgot that it was my mother's birthday yesterday. Oops. It wasn't until we were at church that Grandpa announced it to the whole congregation. Man did I feel like a heel. That was the part of the weekend where things did not go so well.
But on Saturday I finally got rid of those two horrible couches that Hubby had promised to get rid of how many months ago? This was even after I had to spray them to get rid of the wasp nest that stung Hubby and Bear the last time we tried to move them. Grandpa and I drove them to the Big Bin drop off that was happening at the Community Center next to Bear's school. I even got rid of the green chair that was in the living room. Grandpa and I took a look at it and the springs and metal bits for the recliner part of it were totally shot so I just tossed it. Yay! More room so we can move the computer out to the living room this Friday. I have to laugh my Dad found a barrel (it had a hole in it) and a chair that he decided to take from the drop off. I guess that must be where I get my pack rat tendencies from. I even gave him the white wooden chairs from our house that had been put in the garage. He at least will be able to fix the broken one and apply the wood glue that should keep the rest of them stable. Between my Hubby and me, we may have good intentions but unless it is very important the projects just may never happen.
So yes, the nursery is going to finally start be made into one starting this week. I had a call last week from my phone provider where they gave me an excellent deal. For only $5 dollars more than than my current provider for internet and cable we will get telephone, internet and cable. All one package. Yay! And we will get the internet and cable portion free for the next three months. Yes, there are conditions such as a three year plan and a one time fee come December but those two details really are very minor (Yes I did make sure I know what that one time fee will be and what for). And if I am smart enough and go to their website I will get a free computer. Yes, that's right a free computer. It's a Dell computer but what the hey! A free computer is a free computer. I could upgrade to a laptop if I spend $400 dollars, but I don't really think that is necessary. After all the computer will only be used at home. The only reason why I would have wanted a laptop was to conserve on space but I think I have a living room configuration planned out that will allow both for computers in it. Maybe even my sewing machine too.
Oh my, I just had a parenting episode that could have turned really bad and was very ugly there for a little bit. After typing the last paragraph I started putting Smiles to bed. She was okay until Bear came in to get his story and she had to go to her room and not get to hear it. Wow what a temper tantrum. Screaming and crying and unfortunately I lost it during one bit. After walking away and doing the dishes I calmed down enough to remember the advice "When you least feel like being compassionate is most likely when they(the kids) need it most." I am not the greatest parent and this shows sometimes, but I think I will have to try to remember this phrase more often. Maybe I'll make a poster of it and post it over the computer or in the kitchen. Smiles is now sleeping and not wanting to throw out all her stuffies just because I gave them to her. Sigh, somedays I think I redeem myself with these moments of competency. I guess only time will tell.

Tooth fairy visits
1. I got the lists I needed for school supplies. Which meant a walk to the school.
2. I let the kids play at the playground (after getting the lists)
3. I finished the sorbet that Hubby started yesterday and gave it to the kids for dessert.
4. I did dishes again tonight!
5. I put money under the pillow to Bear from the tooth fairy.
We were eating supper and the next thing I know I look over at him and his tongue is pushing out a bloody tooth. I didn't think tacos (ok soft burritos) were especially hard, but whatever it takes! Now he has two matching gaps on the bottom of his jaw. One on either side of his two front teeth. Smiles being only four wants her teeth to start coming out but alas she will have to wait a few years still.
So Bear (the little stinker) got me good today. Just before supper I sent the two outside to play so I could have some time to actually make supper. Smiles had come in and was holding a half ripe tomato which I praised her for. After all it when the tomatoes are yellow or orange that is when you can pick them and let them ripen on your counter. So Bear a few minutes later says he found a tomato too. I go to the door and ask him what colour it is? He says red! Which means you need to pick it now so it can be used quickly. So I tell him he definitely needs to pick it. He reaches into the branches and pulls out his small red bouncy ball! That was a good laugh by us all. What a stinker!
I was going to go out today and visit Raven after her Gencon adventure but thought I would phone her first to see if she wanted company. Only I discovered from Blankshield that it was getting home from Gencon that was more of an adventure. You see when I called in the middle of the afternoon Raven had still not gotten back yet. Oh my! Seeing as how she had said that she expected everyone to be home late Monday something interesting must have happened. Or at the very least the airlines changed their flights on them. So when Raven got home and called me back I was okay with letting her veg and relax. She sounded like she was going to need it. Which means I might not see her at all this week due to Hubby claiming Thursday night for himself and this weekend the kids and I are going to the farm. Sigh! I guess I will just have to wait to hear all about the cool things that happened at Gencon.

Ruminations on the past week.
1. I have done dishes consistently after supper for the past 5 nights in a row. Yeah a record for me!
2. I took the kids on a short bike ride.
3. I took the training wheels off of Bear's bike.
4. I weeded the vegetable patch. Haha. That's the only way to actually describe it I suppose.
5. I gathered more ripening tomatoes. yum!
This past week has been full of ups and downs. Thankfully I think I am going on to an upswing again. Yesterday was a bad bad day. We'll leave it at that. I also gave Smiles a braid in her hair after her bath tonight. She wasn't really dirty but I couldn't see a reason why to deny her. After all getting clean is fun. Especially when its a bubble bath. Now just trying to make them(Smiles and Bear) think cleaning up their toys can be fun too. Sigh! I may not ever win that challenge.
Also I have heard that True Dungeon was a really good run this year at Gencon. I am so jealous and a little sad that I was not able to go this year. Alas circumstances intervened and I was stuck at home gestating. Still we have a few more activities planned before summer ends for the kids. Though I must admit I am SO looking forward to them being in school. Both of them. I will have a few months before my life is interrupted and I will have a screaming person to take up whatever spare time I could possibly have had. So before then I am going to enjoy whatever time to myself that I can!
2. I took the kids on a short bike ride.
3. I took the training wheels off of Bear's bike.
4. I weeded the vegetable patch. Haha. That's the only way to actually describe it I suppose.
5. I gathered more ripening tomatoes. yum!

Homegrown Vegetables and Friends
1. I made spaghetti sauce from scratch.
2. I did dishes.
3. blogged.
4. I let the kids have a movie night tonight.
5. I rescued some chairs from a neighbours garbage.
I know, I know the last sounds horrible but the chairs are a solid metal frame and the cushions are a vinyl therefore washable. Hubby and I need some more chairs that are able to support our weight and these chairs do that. The wooden ones we got from Auntie Ski just do not support people over 200 pounds. Considering that Hubby is probably over 300 pounds and my pregnancy weight is making me closer to that number than I really am comfortable with I think this was a good move. Besides I remember what my parents used to do and just had their chairs like these ones recovered. They still have those chairs and we use them all the time when we visit the farm.
Yesterday was a good day and it started off with a late night before hand with me reading Stardust by Neil Gaiman til later than I should have. Then I woke up 10-20 minutes before Star showed up with her children for the playdate that we had scheduled last week. Little S and Smiles had fun getting balloon bunnies from the green shack guy at the playground. Bear got an octopus. Baby J was happy to just crawl around and Star got to take some beautiful pictures of the kids playing and looking cute with her new camera. I think she'll be an excellent professional photographer and I am definitely going to be spreading her business card around to the moms at the school. She said I was to give them to my friends but since most of the people I know are ones she knows I figure I'll let her spread word of mouth to them. Haha.
Later in the afternoon Grandma and Grandpa showed up and brought me a number of vegetable goodies. This included the fresh tomatoes I used for the spaghetti sauce tonight. Mom also gave me cucumbers, peppers, eggs and potatoes. All in all these vegetables should keep me happy for the next week or so. The kids were happy to see and play with Grandma and Grandpa. Smiles fell asleep easily for Hubby when it came to bed time.
The reason he ended up putting them to bed was because Raven called up and asked if she could do one last swim with me before Gencon. Since I love swimming and talking with Raven I could not very well say no! Even if she had an ulterior motive such as using me as transportation afterwards. You see she had no vehicle last night and would have needed a ride down to Star and Cosmic's place in order to meet up with them and her husband before their Red-Eye Flight. Blankshield had left earlier with the luggage and Raven could have gotten her Dad to drive her but this way we got to hang and chat longer. I will miss her for the week and will probably go swimming without her tomorrow, but I will still miss her. Of course it may be just Gencon that I am longing for and am missing. Sigh!
Still I hope everyone has a good time in Indianapolis and I am so going next year. Barring dire Family Emergencies. I think I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Digestion and Swimming
So life has been blah and busy at the same time. My digestion problems...
oh sorry here's the Caveat...
Warning icky biological details may follow. Read at your own Risk!
So as I was saying my digestion system is still acting up and I am going to have to talk to my doctor about it at the next appointment. You see I have been calling it acid reflux because that is the only term I know that fits the description. But I am not sure it is. You see I get the feeling of stuff wanting to come back up my throat as per acid reflux and then having it sit there and not do anything for hours. But the taste or sensation I get from this process is like I have eggs or bread stuck in my throat. Usually stale bread or potatoes that have gone off. Then if I don't drink something acidic like orange juice (even citrus juices help) I will end up throwing up whatever meal I just ate. It tends to be worse in the evening but I have had it where I have woken up one morning where I have had to rush the toilet.
The other half of this equation is I seem to get every single flu or cold bug that calls for diarrhea. So I feel like I'm in a no win situation. If its not one end its the other. I am starting to wonder during that first initial bout of stomach bug with the forced liquid diet due to extreme flushing if perhaps I lost stomach acids and have not been able to replace them. It would explain why the acidic juices help with my "Acid Reflux" problem. Still I am guessing. I won't truly know until I talk to my doctor about it. Also being six months pregnant I am worried about the effect it is having on my unborn child. The baby seems healthy enough and is kicking quite frequently so I will take that as a good indication.
Okay Icky details over!
On other news we walked to the swimming pool that is 7 blocks from our house yesterday and had a good time there. We were late for the public swim but we were early for the community swim. Since the community swim was free (we have a community membership) we decided to wait for that and I got to check out the pool. I must say I prefer the pool that Raven and I go to for swimming because the lap pool was built towards Olympic sizes. Great for when you want to do laps and actually swim with adults. But this pool is great for kids. There are two slides that go into the shallow end of the pool where we spent most of the time swimming and we even came across one of Bear's schoolmates and his mom. I might want to see if Raven wants to come with her kids to this pool since she might have an easier time keeping an eye on them. The shallow end is shallow and long. There's no current for the C-man to play in but they have lots of toys for the kids. And there are the two slides. I did mention the slides right. Since that was Smiles favorite part of the pool and I was her designated watcher I got quite familiar with them. I must admit the pool is very well set up for kids. Or at the very least I thought so. The hot tub on the other hand is not up to the standard that I have gotten used on my weekly swims with Raven.
She won't like it because there are not any strong jets for her. Oh well we can't have everything.
So Star called on Thursday? or was it Friday?. Whatever and set up a playdate between Little S and Smiles for tomorrow. I am quite looking forward to it and Smiles seem to be happy with the thought of it too so I'm happy as well. I am hoping the weather is nice enough of for us to go the playpark at the school. This way Bear may find other kids to play with too. He's been kinda bored lately and I feel bad about that but I can only do so much and I do believe boredom can be a good thing for kids some days. Helps with the imaginative play. Yeah that's it! Anyways that's the synopsis of my life lately. I will just have to make sure the next time I play jungle speed that I have trimmed my nails. Sorry about the scratches Red Necked Rabbit. I can see why Blankshield has been raving about it since last Gencon though. It is a fun and silly game. :)

Chili Taco Casserole
Hubby had made lots of chili and once again we were left with lots of leftovers. So what to do with them. Here's a very simple recipe that even our children enjoyed.
You will need
a casserole dish
a spoon
a cheese grater
a can opener
maybe a bowl to mix some things in
1. Leftover chili
2. taco or tortilla shells
3. cheese cheddar or marble or whatever you fancy
4. 2 cans of whatever type of cream soup you want. I used Cream of Chicken last night.
Take the tortilla shell and spoon some chili down the center of it. Sprinkle some cheese over top. Roll up the tortilla shell and place seam side down in the casserole dish. Repeat this step until the casserole dish is full. Mix the remaining cheese with the can or cans of cream soup and pour out over the top of the shells.
Bake at 375 Degrees for 45 minutes.
Let cool and serve.
Enjoy! I have Hubby to thank for thinking of this easy recipe.

Quad War 2007
So despite the start of the weekend being fraught with venting material we had a great weekend all around. Yes there was some yelling and crankiness involved but packing is one of those things that makes Hubby and I not see eye to eye. Even today when we were packing up to come home he was questioning some of my decisions which just made me angry and I said some mean things. Which in turn made him grumpy and angry. But once we got on the road he was able to calm down and we talked about the weekend. Which was really really good. And yes I did apologize for my unkind remarks.
Friday we left early. Only two hours later than our planned departure. Hubby packed the tubs and bags really well in the back of the truck and we all headed out to the site. We being Raven and family plus mine. In the three hour drive we stopped once to let the kids stretch their legs and for most of the ride Smiles was asleep. Bear nodded off too, I was the only one who was not sleeping. I have never been able to sleep in moving vehicles unless I am extremely tired.
Once at the site Raven started putting up the rest of the framing around the one last window (which just happened to be in the shop...sigh) that she had not been able to finish earlier this month. Blankshield cleaned the cabin so everything could be set up and Hubby was out back putting up the tent. Or should I say realizing he had left the tent poles behind because he left it to his old roommate to pack the tent up at the last camping trip he had. Me I was minding the children until Blankshield finished tiding up the cabin. Then he took over and I started putting up the cloaks for display. All the while Raven was finishing the framing on the window.
So what about the tent? Well luckily for us The Crazy Lady of the Woods and her husband had set up an old tent of theirs already. It was empty and they allowed us to use it for the weekend. It was an old canvas one and they keep things toasty warm. It was windy the first night out there too. So Hubby got everything set up inside and made supper for everyone. He had made a large pot of chili earlier this week and we brought a big bowl of it out with us. Saturday he cooked us steaks! Yum! The first night cloaks sales were okay, but enough money was made by both Raven and I that we had some spending money. Which means I let Hubby go buy the belt that he wanted to get last year but we couldn't afford because I bought my dress. I also let him buy a nice dagger that he wanted. Then he bought the kids some toys.
Saturday I woke up not feeling well after having to go to the bathroom about five times already that night. My digestive tract apparently was still in no shape to handle solids very well but was trying to fool me by allowing me to eat solid foods. Sigh! In other words diarrhea. After the purge I was still able to do things but mostly ended up minding the shop during the hot part of the day. Hubby was awesome and not only did his part of minding the kids (all five of the them - our two and Raven's three). He also helped with the dishes and just in general minding things. I was really proud of him and happy to have him as part of the team. He was allowed to wander and go off by himself sometimes but he was never gone very long and would come back to help out some more. Raven and I were very happy because this meant we all were able to take turns looking after the kids and yet we still had someone who was able to look after the shop at all times.
I have to laugh because I honestly think Blankshield made the most sales for us. He was able to look after the shop alot if Raven and I were doing other things (like potty breaks or naps or kid chasing C-Man was fast this year even Raven had trouble catching him some times). I think it also helped that this year our friend Fox sent some leather works with us. Belts, Frogs (sword holders for those scabbards that don't come with hooks for belts) and Bracers. Those got more gentlemen into the shop and of course once they're there they have to look at the rest of the items. Whee! It was a good weekend for sales. All in all I do not think I broke even but it was darn close and I sold almost all of one of the three categories for the cloaks. There are blanket cloaks (squares or rectangles of cloth that can be drapped or held together with a cloak pin. They have the added bonus of being blankets at night. Hence the name blanket cloaks). There are the hanging cloaks - the unlined, the lined, the wool and the fur cloaks. This was where I was left with one cloak left, YeeHaa! Gives me lots of work to do for next year. GRIN. Then there is the children's and hoods section.
Almost all of the hoods were gone and 3/4's of the hanging cloaks were gone. The children's cloaks (which we were not really expecting to sell anyways) did not do very well and only one of the blanket cloaks sold. So next year we know to make more wool cloaks, lined cloaks and full circle cloaks. Oh and bog coats. All of ours sold, even the one I made that came out a little wonky. Almost all of the hanging cloaks were gone this year and it was not that cold or wet unlike the last time all the cloaks sold.
Mind you it was pretty darn chilly Saturday night and I had to use two of the blanket cloaks on the children so they would not freeze that night. Not that it did much good for Bear who decided to keep rolling off the air mattress and sleep on the ground. Sigh that boy! I think I finally tried to just keep the blanket cloak on the ground so that the next time he rolled off he would not be directly on the ground. He did have his sleeping bag mind you so he wasn't completely in contact with the ground but still a sleeping bag does not keep cold creep from the ground out.
Anyways the weekend was a good one and the only reason why we decided to come home early was because of health issues. My digestion problems and Raven's Asthma. The lady who was using the kitchen(I use this term very loosely here) between The Crazy Lady of the Woods and Raven's cabins cooked alot of things on a BBQ. This meant a lot of smoke and Raven's lungs do not handle smoke very well. So to avoid an Asthma attack by either her or her children we left early this morning (Okay it was just after noon when we left). I am not sad. We probably lost out on some sales for this day but I would rather put our health before money. Besides we are going to need to do an awful lot of work to replenish our stock for next year. Oh and Dirt Dazzy if you read this... Your trims were wonderful and I am sure Raven and I will be ordering some more for next year's cloaks :)
On the whole Wasp Quad.. oh I forgot to mention there was lots of wasps this year and we had fun trying to keep them away from our food and kids. Bear got stung twice by a wasp and once by a horsefly. Otherwise out of all nine of us no one else got stung though there were lots of other people who did. Hubby is not sure if the mark on his hand is from a wasp or just a burn from when he was cooking so I am not counting him in. Or at least I do not remember any of Raven's family getting stung so I don't think any of them did get stung. So if I am wrong I am sure Raven will inform me. Still there were some interesting times like the hair braiding I did for a girl in the Wench War and I could probably continue but I am tired. So I think I will join Hubby soon and go to bed. G'night!

The Ongoing Saga.....
This is a Vent about my Husband. Be Warned!!!!
Okay side break for your amusement first...
My little story takes place on a tropical villa.
I fell in love with a flavor, yes it wassss Vanilla.
Mini Wheats, wheats, wheats
I'd wanted Vanilla for so long.
Mini Wheats, wheats, wheats
High in fibre you can't go wrong.
Vanilla flavor mixed with wheat
Put 'em together what a treat.
Vanilla flavor mixed with wheat
Put 'em together they can't be beat.
Source of blah blah blah Nutritious Breakfast
Tastes so good, good, good.....
Okay this jingle from the commercial has obviously worked its magic into infesting my brain and not letting me forget it. Or as you can see I wouldn't have been able to put most of the jingle Verbatim on my blog. Arrgh!
Of course that is a better counterpoint to "Fucking jerk! Goddamn Asshole! Who the hell does he think he is!!!" and so on while I finished my tasks late tonight. You see my husband has a bad tendency to underestimate how long a project will get done just so he can go "Oops I ran out of time. I couldn't finish it."
What started this vent tonight? Well lemme tell ya. I had been working all day towards getting everything packed and ready so we can go camping this weekend. Meanwhile, my husband got up this morning, played on the computer. Went to work for oh, I think an hour and then came home and guess what played on the computer. Then the only reason he got off the computer was because we had some errands such as groceries and dropping my sewing machine off at Raven's. (Hers died and she needed one to finish a hem.) SO what happens when we get home? Yup, you guessed it he went back on the computer to play some more. Which he had prearranged earlier!!! Me was I okay with this? I must have been cause I fucking let him!@
Then when the time came for me to go swimming with Raven which I had missed last week due to being ill he was still on the computer. The chores he had left to do were simple if not time consuming. All of which he could have done if he had gotten off the damn computer!!! The lawn was the chore I spotted first upon arriving home. He had promised me a third time this last week that he would mow the lawn before we went to Quad War. Half of the back lawn was done. The front wasn't touched. The back half he did do well... technically it was only a third. He did the half that goes between the house and the garage. The other side which goes from the house to back fence (which is further than the garage obviously) is also wider. So he technically only did a third. The kicker here is he said it would take him 30 minutes to get the entire lawn done! Hah! I am going to use a trick from Raven. I asked him now how long the backyard will take him to do and he told me 45 minutes. So I am going to write this on the board and tell him to not underestimate his time again!
He was supposed finish packing the kids clothes and his. I would do mine when I got home. All of them were stacked nice and neatly and would have taken five minutes tops to pack. Done? No! He did get a tub out of the garage for the non perishable food to go in and packed that. Oh and he packed his clothes. I really don't know if I can say he packed the camping gear in tubs. Oh wait! Yes I can. He packed them up for his long weekend game two weekends ago and never unpacked them. So I have no idea what state they are in. By the way yes there is supposed to be dripping sarcasm in those statements. The other thing that was on the list was to pack the chili into containers that we could take with us for the Friday night meal. Who ended up doing that? Yup, you guessed it...ME!
Then he tried to blame it all on me. I had said I would not be out long after swimming and would try to be home and get some more tasks done. Only I ended up getting a really cute outfit done for Smiles doll instead. He had wanted to go to Canadian Tire and pick up an electric pump (which by the way I was going to get him but the store was closed by the time I got there) so he wouldn't have to inflate our air mattresses with our hand pump. This is a snarky comment I know his mom will not appreciate. BUT HOW FUCKING LAZY IS THAT!!!!!! I asked Raven if she had one and they have a foot pump which I thought would be acceptable. NOOoooo! It has to be an electric one so he doesn't wind himself. I am getting very tired of him using his asthma as an excuse not to do things. Or even worse he'll say he will do something and then at the last minute come and ask me if I can help him with it. What the FUCK is that about! I am sorry I have done my jobs for the day and am finally resting or have been sick for the last two weeks and he can't do the dishes by himself?!@! Once just once I would love for him to do the job he says he's going to do and actually finish it and not leave it half assed undone!
Yeah, I know we have been cranky and tired and pissed off at things lately. There are personal things that are not going very well at the moment, but you know what? These peeves of mine have been going on for about nine years now and I for one am getting awfully tired of them. It is finally getting to the point where I won't take this bullshit any longer. Most days these days all I can see him as is a whiney spoiled brat who should have been spanked more into cleaning up after himself. And I know that comment is going to offend someone. Okay vent is over for now. I am not so angry as I was when I came home tonight. Now to try and get some sleep because we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow. And you know what? I am not going to lift one finger to help my husband finish the jobs he was supposed to! I have done my half I am not doing his.
Thank God we have good neighbours who will look after the house and water our plants for us while we are gone. Okay there are some good things in the world :)
Arrgh!
