Not pulling a Clara

Eyes has been very cute lately. She is more active and more mobile. Therefore she gets into more things. She is able to get on the couch and gets this impish grin on her face as she reaches the cat to whap her. She still hasn't gotten the whole "Gentle! Gentle Eyes!" and petting is right out. Her softer whaps must be her form of petting. Sigh poor kitty. Though the cat does let Eyes know when she has had enough and then Eyes cries. Oh well live and learn.

Eyes can also get into the bay window now because of her couch climbing abilities. And that is a whole other load of trouble. She loves to look outside but since it also used to be another place the cat used to hide from her she (the cat) can scratch that hidey hole off. The other thing that the baby really loves is books. She will go to the bookshelf and tear half of them down. Then she'll bring me the ONE that she wanted me to read to her. We have even caught her climbing onto the couch and sitting there looking at a book. Its adorable.

Both yesterday and today in the morning when I have returned home from dropping the kids off at school she has done another cute thing. I will take her from the stroller so I can collapse it and she start toddling off to the garage. Once there she'll bang on the door as if saying "Mommy can we go for a car ride?". I may have to do that a little later so that will make her happy. She is also in full blown Separation Anxiety since she'll also start banging on whatever door is between her and her Mommy. Try taking a shower when you have a toddler banging and crying on the other side of the bathroom door. Good thing Hubby can usually distract her for about 15 seconds.

My older two are growing as well. I think the girls may be going through a growth spurt. Eyes ate three bowls of food for supper the last two days. Oh my! Smiles is just shooting up and Bear really really needs a haircut!

As for the rest of my life. I am addicted to WoW... but at least I don't pull a Clara! If you don't know the reference go Goggle Watch the Guild! Once again I can't figure out links... sigh!

Family Day

Yesterday was family day and it was a good one. We ended up making potato pancakes for Brunch and we went sledding in the afternoon. Bear had his Birthday about a week ago and it was a nice quiet affair. We only had 6 kids in total including Bear and his sister. Other than that it has been mostly mundane around here.

The only other thing I have to say is a rant about... If you are going to dig through your change looking to make up that last $10 in the Express Checkout Lane - Please have it ready beforehand so you do not hold up the next 8 people in line behind you! I stood for at least 5 mins behind this lady who did exactly that to me... Arrrggghhhh!

Which is why I had to make muffins today. I made more Banana Muffins but lately I tried an Apple Spice Muffin which went over really well with the family. I seem to be the only one who likes my Cheese Muffins. I also have been finding I like making Egg Salad so that I can have some for lunches. I like my version because I put Pickles & Green Onions in instead of just a regular onion. Very tasty!

Furry Butt Evicted!

Life has been busy and sickness seems to reign in my body because it won't leave. I think it is just general worn-downness that is taking its toll.

On the front with the mouse I came home from dropping the kids off at school to find Hubby standing triumphantly at the door proclaiming "I have evicted the furry butt of that interloper!" I had heard noises from the cat the night before that sounded like she was trying to catch the mouse. Apparently she failed or just decided she wanted to play and not eat because in the morning Hubby saw it in the living room. He tried scooping it up in a box lid and eventually got it caught up in a rug. I found it dead in a snow drift along the sidewalk when I went to go get the kids from school later that day. Since then we have heard no more mice noises and I have my fingers crossed no more are in the house. Especially since I found the hole they had got in through and plugged it!!!

The Counter-top people are supposed to be showing up this afternoon to install the backsplash that they somehow forgot about when the counter was being put in. Thankfully our landlady remembered and raised hell. Tomorrow I have an intake with a service geared towards Bear and then on Wednesday the family is off to Red Deer for the funeral of an Uncle of Hubby's. Thursday may be a playdate and Friday is Friday! Why am I looking forward to the weekend already?
