Everyone in our household is sick, even the cat is sick. Unfortunately it is not world stopping sick or we would have barricaded the doors and put up quaritine signs. Assuming of course that we could have mustered the energy. As it were life went on tired and sore and feverish and out of sorts. This on the whole is not bad except my housecleaning skills really fall by the wayside and it means I have not swept or mopped the floor this week. I at least got the dishes done and the cat litter. Both very important jobs in this household. You see I have motivation of a sort. My parents called today saying that they want to return the free standing Roaster Oven that they had borrowed last week. They were not sure if they would be in today or tomorrow and so.....I am cleaning. Now my house is not bad, you can walk through the rooms and hallway and most of the time not step on things. Occassionally this can be a problem, usually the work of kid toys. I don't dust very often which I know is not good for an asthamatic husband but I do sweep every few days and try to mop once a week. My bathroom may have fuzz on the floor but no mold or slime anywhere. The dishes are done and returned to their respective places so you can actually find things later. I do laundry once a week (whoop five small baskets full) and the cat litter daily.
Still I know that my Mom and Dad are coming and everywhere that things looked ok to me I know they will look and see oh my goodness is that a messy (blank). I have gotten used to living with a man and now two kids who do not put things away where they belong. Oh this bookshelf looks like a good place for my plate that I am holding, let's put it there! I have gotten used to the clutter and in fact have gotten out of the messy clutter from my college days(mostly). Alas I am still not in my mother's league of cleaniness and I have realized that I never will be. Unless I hire a maid of course. So instead I will try to contain my messy clean house as best as I can before my parents arrive tomorrow.
On another note entirely go to the CBC.ca/kids site and go play the Sushi Samuari game. It is so much fun. My son showed it to me and I am having a blast with it. Now to return the favor to a friend who introduced me to Zangbad. Bwahhahahaha
